INS Sumedha (P58) is the third Saryu-class patrol vessel of the Indian Navy, designed and built indigenously at the Goa Shipyard Ltd. Its operational duties include anti-piracy patrol, search and rescue (SAR), humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR), surveillance, and escort missions. The vessel has the capability to carry an Advanced Light Combat Helicopter and is involved in monitoring sea lines of communications and offshore assets, as well as escort duties. The Indian Navy has confirmed that INS Sumedha plays a crucial role in supporting the fleet’s operations.
